Hi dmatt,

Just confirming you are on Edge on a Windows 10 machine.

A bit of background here. We removed autologin from email as a security precaution. As users have very sensitive information linked to their Seeking Alpha accounts, we felt that the risk of a security breach was too great should someone gain access to user inboxes. If you have cookies enabled on your machine, this will prevent you from having to keep on logging in repeatedly.

Do you happen to know if you're blocking cookies from 3rd party sites? If so, you need to whitelist seekingalpha.com to not have to log in each time you click from a seekingalpha.com email.

All the best,

Hi,

Excellent question. We are in the process of starting to integrate additional payment methods such as PayPal. It will take some time so your patience is appreciated. Apologies we don't have it up and running already.

You appear to be using Firefox. Do you know if you're blocking cookies from 3rd party sites? If so, you need to whitelist seekingalpha.com to not have to log in each time you click from an email on your personal computer or mobile device.

All the best,

Hi guys,

It appears you are cleaning you cookies each time you close your browser - which causes Seeking Alpha (as well as other sites) to log you out. Once you are logged out, we protect your security by requiring a new login. If you want to remain logged into Seeking Alpha, it's important to add seekingalpha.com as an exception to clearing your cookies at the end of your browser session, or you will continue getting automatically logged out.

Please let me know if I have this wrong somehow - we'd love to help you get to the bottom of this issue. All the best,

Hi grad student,

First of all, thanks for using Seeking Alpha. You can try PRO for free for 2 weeks (just make sure you cancel before the 2 weeks are up so you don't get charged). That should give you ample time to read the transcript. Additionally, you should know that in a few weeks we will be rolling out a deeply discounted version of PRO for students. All you need is an active, non-alumni .edu email address.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your meticulous reporting of this issue. We'll take a look.

Hi Mark,

We disabled Auto-login from emails in order to upgrade our site's security. Any idea if you have cookies disabled in your browser in some way? As long as you have cookies enabled your browser should be keeping you logged in.

Hi,

It looks like you're using Firefox. If you have Tracking Protection turned on you would also likely be identified as using an ad blocker.

Please try disabling this feature and let us know if the problem has disappeared,

Hi,

As part of a recent upgrade to our email security we removed auto-login. This means that if you’re not already logged into the site and click to an article from your email, you will have to log in 1 time after which point you will remain logged in.

A key upshot to our email security upgrade is that you can now forward emails to anyone you choose without worrying that someone else may access your account.
